Zebras INTERVIEWS

Interview with Stephen McCarron

Stephen McCarron on his time at the club and future aspirations.

You’ve been at Brigg Town for 3 seasons now. Has it gone to plan?

It has. I always knew coming in from Bottesford that Brigg was a big club striving under Jim. There’s still a long way to go to get us back up the leagues where we belong though.

Were you pleased with your individual performances last season?

Yeah. I was gutted not to get into double figures – I ended the season with 9 goals. My target was 10. In terms of performances though, I was happy but I’m looking to improve on them for next season.

What about winning the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy?

The best part about the win was the fans. They’re better than any other fan base in our league!

Are you looking forward to pre-season?

This is probably the best rest I’ve had this year. It was well needed as well. Fitness won’t be the best, but that’s the main aim of it anyway. So yeah, it will be nice to get back into the mix of things!

And lastly, what are Brigg’s ambitions for the season?

Our ambition has to be to challenge for promotion. We’ll hopefully go one better than last season! It would be lovely to defend the Lincs Trophy again – the league is more important though.

Good answers and thank you for that!

No problem.
