This season’s third player of the month award goes to Martin Pembleton. Brigg Town played seven matches in October – Pembleton only missed two of them and did very well in the other five.

The first result of October was a 3-3 draw at Ollerton Town. Pembleton was solid in the centre of the park.
After missing the 5-1 loss at Garforth Town, which was fiendishly difficult without key players, he was back for the game against Rossington Main. It finished 2-2 with Pembleton assisting both of Scott Phillips’ goals in a Man of the Match display. This was despite playing as a makeshift right-back.
The following week Pembleton was back in midfield at Sleaford Town but was on the right wing instead of the middle. He impressed in a 2-2 draw before scoring the decisive spot kick in the penalty shootout.

Pembleton was in central midfield in Brigg’s 3-3 draw with Glasshoughton Welfare. He was Man of the Match and set up Dayle Hutson’s goal with his third assist of the month.
Last week’s 2-0 FA Vase win over Harrogate Railway Athletic was fantastic. Pembleton was excellent on the right side of midfield. His free kick that struck the underside of the crossbar led to an own goal.
Although Pembleton was unavailable for today’s 5-0 victory at Shirebrook Town, he has still done enough for the monthly award.
Good work, Martin!
