Jack Richardson is player of the month for the second time in a row. He’s Brigg Town’s first player to earn two monthly awards this season.
Dave Smith chose Richardson as February player of the month. The manager has nominated him again after more tireless work in March.
March began with a 1-1 draw against Selby Town. Richardson was Brigg’s goal scorer in an all-action display.
Richardson performed well in the 1-0 loss to Glasshoughton Welfare, the midfield dynamo covered every blade of grass as always.
The Zebras were delighted to run out 1-0 winners over Dronfield Town. Richardson battled non-stop in the middle of the park.
The worst result of the month was a 5-1 thrashing by Selby. Although it was a disappointing night, Richardson didn’t play too badly.
The abandonment at Swallownest was a shame, especially when Brigg were leading 4-1 without long left to play. One of the four goals was Richardson’s sweetly struck volley – his second goal of the month.
Brigg were unfortunate to be beaten 2-0 by Armthorpe Welfare. At 0-0, Richardson was unlucky not to score with a goal-bound effort that was very well blocked. Also, he was the Man of the Match.
The Zebras deserved better after dominating in last night’s goalless draw with Shirebrook Town. There were several near misses including Richardson’s 20-yarder that flew inches wide in yet another game he impressed in.
Richardson played in every minute of all seven matches in March. The midfield dynamo bagged a couple of goals and picked up a Man of the Match award.
It’s no surprise that Smith agrees he was the standout player.
