Zebras MATCH REPORTS

After defeating Runcorn Town in the FA Vase, Brigg Town returned to NCEL Division One action. The Zebras hosted Staveley Miners Welfare with both sides occupying mid-table positions.

The impressive Millennium Stadium – the home of Featherstone Rovers RLFC - was the venue for Brigg Town’s game at Wakefield AFC.

Brigg had home advantage facing the team which had beaten them in the league play-off game at the end of last season and were looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to date.

After having no fixture on Saturday afternoon, Brigg travelled mid-week to face Worsbrough Bridge Athletic F.C.

Both teams were hoping to maintain their unbeaten starts to the season in their midweek fixture at the EC Surfacing Stadium.

Chas Fisher and Scott Phillips returned to the starting line up as Brigg faced the Wakefield area team, Nostell Miners Welfare FC, for their first league away fixture of the new season.

A crowd of over 300 turned out to watch Brigg’s opening home game of the new season against Bradford-based club Campion.
