Brigg Town began brightly with Joe Pugh coming close after good work from Stephen McCarron.
The deadlock was broken on 19 minutes through Josh Batty, who latched onto Lee Briggs’ ball over the top before firing in his third goal in as many games.
Soon afterwards Owen Vincent limped off injured which was unfortunate, but his replacement Alfie Usher made an instant impact. Just after entering the fray he cut inside from the left before threading the ball through for Joe Pugh to slot home.
Brigg looked comfortable with their two goal lead until Brett Smith pulled one back with a neat finish on the stroke of half time.

The Welfare picked up where they left off in the second half with Tahweed Ahmed forcing Jody Barford into a great save.
At the other end, Jack Richardson’s effort rattled the crossbar, but the whistle had already been blown so it wouldn’t have counted if it had gone in.
Soon afterwards Usher, who had looked sharp since coming on, raced clear and was denied by a smart stop from Rhys Westcarr.
Brigg should have had a penalty late on when Dayle Hutson was clearly fouled in the box, but it didn’t matter much as they hung on for three points.
The Zebras were delighted to win their third match in a row.
