Brett Agnew included himself in the starting lineup and led by example throughout the game, but there were fine individual contributions in all positions on the pitch by the whole matchday squad.

In a slow start to the game, the home team attacked down their right wing but this came to nothing after Lewis Hill comfortably gathered a cross into his goal area.
Brigg responded with a neat combination of play between Martin Pembleton and Prince Haywood who struck a shot at goal just wide of the upright.
Brigg settled down to play the ball around but in their next advance, the offside flag went up.
Lewis Hill made a shot-stopping save to deny the home team’s central striker after nine minutes and continued to handle confidently behind the back four.
A free kick from forty yards out by Martin Pembleton drifted out of play and the Glasshoughton goalkeeper was needed to make a low save from a dangerous ball played forward into his area.
Openings were created at both ends of the pitch but gradually, Brigg began to look the more dangerous.
Jack Cross was back in the side after his recent layoff and showed a quick response to form with tireless runs at the home defence assisted by the admirable play in midfield of Pembleton and Haywood.
After twenty-seven minutes Brigg’s strong appeals for a penalty kick after a foul in the area were rejected. Pembleton was cautioned for making a foul tackle in midfield but Brigg continued to press forward with urgency.
Declan Bacon was a constant threat to the home defenders and had a great game leading the attack. He combined well with Haywood to create an opening which resulted in a fine fingertip save by the home team goalkeeper.
The opening goal of the game was scored two minutes before the break and came after a free kick on the left was played to Bacon who turned past his marker inside the penalty area before finding the far corner of the net with a crisp drive.
Glasshoughton closed the first-half action with a left-wing attack ending with an effort over the crossbar.

The second half began with two corner kicks from the home team but Lewis Hill continued to handle well and cleared the danger.
Ten minutes into the half, the home team created their best chance of the game when the Brigg defence was opened up after being caught by quick counter-attacking move but the opportunity was wasted as the ball was blasted over the goal from a short distance out.
Brigg continued to play well and scored a decisive second goal after fifty-eight minutes. It came after Pembleton and Brett Agnew combined to work the ball to Cross on the wing, who delivered a bouncing ball into the box where Agnew was able to get his head on it to guide it into the back of the net.
With the two-goal cushion, Brigg took control and were able to make substitutions for the last quarter of the game.
Agnew scored his second goal ten minutes from time after substitute Scott Hutchinson had worked the ball into him from the right wing.
The Brigg player-manager missed out on the chance of a hat trick when he headed another right-wing cross over the bar.
