The Zebras worked hard from start to finish, but it was Glasshoughton that scored the only goal midway through the second half to win.
In the opening stages James Petronzio’s cross found Batty, whose header was saved by Mark Bower.
Minutes later a free kick from Joe Pugh flashed narrowly wide.
Brigg were unlucky not to take the lead when Batty fired past Bower, only for Fredy Bernard to make a vital block.
After a promising start, Brigg suffered a blow as Jody Barford went off injured. There was no back-up keeper on the bench so Batty took over between the sticks.
Soon afterwards Stephen McCarron fired a free kick straight into the wall before Ashley Bell’s header from Samuel Nelson’s cross was well held by Batty.
Towards the end of the first half Owen Vincent found Petronzio, who came close with a volley.

The Zebras picked up where they left off in the second half with Vincent having a 20-yarder kept out by Bower.
Luke Mascall then had an ambitious long shot cannon off Nana Nyarko.
Glasshoughton scored against the run of play through Bell, who blasted home Nelson’s low cross from the left.
Brigg responded with an effort from Ryan Thompson that Owen Thomas bravely blocked.
Late on the Zebras should have had a penalty when Thompson was clearly bundled over inside a crowded box. If that had been given, Brigg may well have returned home with a point, but it wasn’t to be.
Although the result was disappointing, Brigg’s effort was good against a now unbeaten in seven Glasshoughton.
