
Both sides made a lively start with Joe Pugh and Ryan Cooper coming close at either end.
Afterwards, Brigg Town dictated play for long periods and almost broke the deadlock when Josh Batty’s ball into the box was met by Owen Vincent, whose header flew inches wide. However, a nightmare end to the half saw the Zebras go in two down at the interval.
In the 44th minute, Kyle Fish scored against the run of play with a powerful strike.
Barely a minute later Liam Flanagan doubled Selby’s advantage from the spot after being tripped by Luke Mascall.




The Robins picked up where they left off in the second half with Flanagan having a shot cleared off the line by James Petronzio.
Alex Clark then headed Fish’s cross just over before the hosts added a couple more goals in quick succession. The first of those was a tap-in by Clark on the hour mark – the second was a neat finish from Fish just 2 minutes later.
Brigg responded with Josh Fraiwald netting a goal on his debut. The youngster fired home following build-up play involving Alfie Usher, Joe Pugh and Conner Harman.
Soon afterwards Selby’s Caden McGrath nearly got on the score sheet with an effort that struck the post.
The Robins bagged their fifth late on with Fish completing his hat-trick in a man-of-the-match performance.
Brigg’s play in the first half was mostly good. However, a disastrous end to it followed by Selby’s second half display led to a heavy defeat.
