Brigg Town began brightly with Stephen McCarron having 20-yarder tipped over by Dylan Forth. The resulting corner was headed over by Finley O’Sullivan.
At the other end, Kyle Hawley squandered a good opportunity for the hosts.
The deadlock was broken by Scott Phillips, who latched onto Dayle Hutson’s through ball to slot home the opener.
Soon afterwards Hutson came close before Kevan Kahoussi’s shot was blocked off the line.
Minutes later Martin Pembleton was denied by Forth at full stretch. Phillips then headed Pembleton’s free-kick wide as the half drew to a close.

The first chance of the second half fell to Jack Wray, whose effort was well saved by Tom Collins.
Brigg responded with Hutson forcing Forth into a smart stop after being played in by Phillips.
Forth was having a busy afternoon in the home goal and kept New Mills in the tie with a world-class save. Phillips unleashed a thunderbolt that looked destined for the top corner, but he somehow clawed it onto the post.
The Millers stopper was called into action yet again keeping out a powerful drive from Jack Richardson, who had raced clear of the defence.
Although Forth was having a terrific game, he was powerless to prevent Phillips from scoring his second goal. It came when the Zebras hitman ran onto substitute Alfie Usher’s pass before firing into the left bottom corner.
A couple of minutes later a brilliant goal made the final score 3-0 to Brigg.
McCarron picked out Kahoussi with a great diagonal ball. The American then cut inside from the right and curled an unstoppable strike into the far top corner.
The Zebras dominated from start to finish in one of their best performances of the season. This was Brigg’s fifth win in a row and things are going very well at the moment!
The next round is at home to Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday 22nd October.
