Brigg’s first attack came from a long ball played by goalkeeper Tom Collins down the centre to Scott Phillips, who neatly laid it off for a deflected shot, with the resulting corner kick being cleared.
Another two corner kicks from alternate wings resulted in a goal-line clearances by Parkgate’s Owen Kelly, before Lawrence Heward struck a fierce drive over the crossbar.
Brigg’s first goal came on sixteen minutes when Phillips was in the right place to tap home a low right wing.
The early success continued with a second goal ten minutes later when Luke Sellers met a long free kick into the box, striking a superb first-time volley into the near corner of the goal.
The home team began to get more into the game and went close to reducing the arrears before half-time, with efforts from Kelly and Ross Duggan being well-defended.

The Steelmen continued to gain more equal possession of the ball from the start of the second half but Brigg always looked dangerous with effective counterattacking football.
For the home team, Alex Hardwick turned round neatly inside the goal area but he shot into the side netting, then Joe Austin headed over the crossbar.
Brigg were forced into a late change when Finley O’Sullivan sustained a head injury ten minutes from the final whistle.
In the closing moments, Collins made a fine save from point-blank range to keep a third consecutive clean sheet.
