Returning goalkeeper Miles Fenty was called into action early on saving Charlie Stewart’s curling effort.
Afterwards Jack Richardson and Josh Batty came close at the other end before James Petronzio stung the palms of Lewis Naylor from distance.
Minutes later Dronfield Town’s Samuel Bebbington was lucky to escape with a yellow card for a poor challenge on Richardson. Thankfully, the midfield dynamo was able to continue following treatment.
After play resumed a powerful strike from Batty was saved by Naylor at full stretch.
Owen Vincent’s cross was then headed over by Richardson as the first half drew to a close.
At half time it became apparent that one of the linesmen was injured which very rarely happens. Even more surprisingly, his replacement was Alan Biggs – a well-known football writer and broadcaster for talkSPORT – who happened to be in the crowd watching!

In the second half the Zebras were temporarily reduced to nine players when Batty and Conner Harman were both sin-binned.
Dronfield almost took the lead with eleven against nine through Stewart, whose 30-yard free kick skimmed the top of the crossbar.
Once Batty was back on he set up the only goal in the 78th-minute fizzing in a low cross from the right that substitute Joe Pugh fired home.
Brigg defended well late on to preserve a clean sheet and return home with the three points.
After a disappointing week with only one point gained from the last two matches, this result boosted the Zebras’ play-off hopes.
